  • Qualitative & Quantitative Composition.

    Each 5 ml contains bromhexine hydrochloride I.P. 4.0mg and terbutaline sulphate I.P. 1.5mg
    In flavored syrup base
  • Dosage Form

    Oral Liquid
  • Therapeutic indications

    Expectorant, mucolytic and bronchodilator.
  • Dosage and administration

    Children below 6 years: ¼ to ½ teaspoonful 3-4 times a day.
    Children 6 years to 12 years: ½ to 1 teaspoonful 3-4 times a day.
    Adult: 2 teaspoonful 3-4 times a day.
    As directed by physician
  • Contra-indications

    Hypersensitivity to sympathomimetics. Any condition of mother or foetus in which prolongation of pregnancy is dangerous. Lactation.
  • Warnings and Precautions

    Gastric ulceration, 1st trimester of pregnancy, arrhythmias, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, diabetes, myocardial insufficiency, history of seizures, heart disease.
  • Drug interactions

    Antagonised effects of β-blockers. Increased risk of hypokaelemia with xanthine derivatives, corticosteriods and diuretics; increased risk of arrhythmias with inhaled anaesthetics, sympathomimetics, erythromycin, cephalexin, amoxycillin.
  • Pregnancy & lactation

    Category C.
  • Undesirable effects/side effects

    GI discomfort, transitory rise in serum transaminase levels, Fine skeletal muscle tremor esp hands, dizziness, anxiety, flushes, sweating, nausea, vomiting, lethargy, tinnitus, tachycardia, palpitations, muscle cramps, headache, paradoxical bronchospasm. IV: Transient hyperglycemia, transient hypokaelemia.
  • Overdose

    The typical symptoms of an overdose with Broncare include headache, anxiety, tremor, nausea, palpitations, hypotension, tachycardia and arrhythmia, hypokaelaemia, hyperglycaemia and lactic acidosis.
